Westmont Hospitality Group is an owner and operator of hotels around the globe.
As a growing and rapidly evolving business, Westmont UK needed an outsourced HR team to provide flexible HR support and advice on a daily basis.
Westmont also wanted to implement a new HR software system – BreatheHR - to automate their HR processes.
Charmayne Morgan and Caroline Meares have been working with Westmont’s London based team to provide the support needed.
Westmont UK Case Study
Westmont were looking for a flexible outsourced HR Support team which would act as a point of contact throughout the company, offering an accessible HR provision and building relationships at all levels.
Westmont also wanted to implement a new HR system to streamline their HR processes. They chose Breathe HR, an award-winning HR system for small to medium sized companies, as best matching their requirements and asked People Vision to implement and manage the system for them.
Charmayne acts in an advisory role, guiding Westmont on all aspects of HR Strategy and best practice.
Having initially met with the Directors to review the company’s existing HR practices, and to discuss how the business’ HR needs could best be met moving forwards, Charmayne was able to identify certain keys areas to focus on.
For example, Charmayne has:
reviewed and suggested updates to the Company Handbook
updated several of the company’s existing policies including maternity, paternity and parental leave
Caroline acts as an initial point of contact for all HR related queries and provides full HR Administrative support. This support might include:
management of the pre-employment process e.g. preparation of offer letters and employment contracts, referencing and conducting right to work checks
onboarding of new starters
managing the exit process for employees who leave the company eg conducting exit interviews
any other adhoc HR admin requirements the company may have.
People Vision handled the full implementation of BreatheHR for Westmont - setting up and tailoring the system to meet the business' needs.
Once the system was fully set up we ran a pilot programme amongst senior managers and further tailored the system according to feedback received.
The system was then launched company-wide and People Vision continue to manage and provide ongoing support now it is up and running.
Westmont now have clear points of contact for any HR-related questions and queries. Having Charmayne and Caroline as HR support has meant that the Directors and managers can move away from the day-to-day HR admin allowing them to focus on their business.
The implementation of Breathe HR has enabled Westmont to streamline their HR processes – automating their holiday booking process and other previously time-consuming HR admin tasks. As all HR documentation is now stored online, staff can easily access all personal and company documents as and when needed.
