How do we know how to behave at work? Well you may say this is obvious. Sadly it is not. Many of our clients call us because they have employees who are repeatedly absent or who do not come to work dressed appropriately.
These seem like simple issues that any Line Manager can iron out with a quite chat. The issue is that people need guidelines to work to.
Typical questions that can be answered in a handbook include:
- How much compassionate leave can I have?
- What happens if I fall pregnant and I want to keep my job?
- When will they stop my sick pay?
Why bother with all these documents?
